william “bill” meeker
Bill is a seasoned manager with nearly 40 years of varied experience in local government, and community development. His extensive management experience includes oversight of complex community development programs and community engagement. Bill is a proven team player with a reputation for forging and maintaining effective working relationships with interest groups and city staff. He is known for his ability to mentor staff to become more effective team members.
Prior to joining M-Group, Bill pioneered the role of Community Development Director with the City of Burlingame, melding the Planning Department and Building Division of the Public Works Department into one cohesive unit. He was instrumental in numerous in-depth planning projects including “Burlingame Point,” a development project for the largest undeveloped property in the city, and the successful construction of the Mills-Peninsula Medical Center hospital and professional office campus.
Bill has a plethora of planning knowledge gleaned from many years of local government planning experience in California. He has an aversion to the word "no" and a talent for working with the community and policy makers to find solutions. Bill earned his degree from Iowa State University in Urban Planning.
Outside of work Bill enjoys music, being a vocalist, working on cars and home renovation projects. He also enjoys travelling, particularly to the Midwest to visit family and spend time at his Civil War era family home.
