CITY OF Sunnyvale
El Camino Real corridor Specific plan and EIR
In collaboration with the City of Sunnyvale, M-Group is leading a team of consultants and a range of stakeholders to prepare the Specific Plan for the El Camino Real Corridor. This project aims to increase the economic vitality of the area while refocusing land use and circulation patterns along the corridor to support mixed-use development and enhance pedestrian, bike and transit mobility. Our team will draft new zoning tools to encourage public benefits, and prepare a programmatic Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to ensure impacts from future development are effectively mitigated. The plan will focus future development along the corridor around four “nodes” that are best-suited to carry out the vision of the Grand Boulevard Initiative (a collaboration between 19 public agencies to improve the performance, safety and aesthetics of El Camino Real).
In conjunction, M-Group developed and is implementing a proactive and comprehensive community engagement strategy. Our team will facilitate both Technical and Planning Advisory Committee meetings, host pop-up and formal workshops throughout the community, and meet with City staff and members of the Planning Commission and City Council to ensure the plan supports the community’s vision and provides a roadmap for implementing the plan’s objectives. M-Group also developed a style guide, logo, and official website to create a strong visual identity for the project that would make it easy to recognize and approachable.
