Emily is a planner with a wide range of interests and experience in housing, climate planning, and current planning. She has a strong work ethic and communicates effectively. She is currently assisting the City of Palo Alto, doing design review of single family homes.

Prior to M-Group, Emily was a planning intern at HMH Engineers in San Jose. She worked on plan sets and permit applications for mixed-use planned developments, and became familiar with the permitting process from the other side of the table. As a student, she was a part of the winning team in the Bank of America Low Income Housing Challenge where she gained experience in low income housing projects, and guided her peers in analyzing the neighborhood context, zoning regulations, and traffic circulation.

Emily received her Bachelor's in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. For her Senior Project she researched Accessory Dwelling Units, specifically in college towns, as an affordable option for both college students and retirees. She also worked on the Cal Poly Climate Action Plan and was a recipient of the 2016 AICP Outstanding Student Award.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys dancing, especially Lindy Hop swing dancing. She also attends barre classes, and loves photography, trying new foods, and watching HGTV.
