Emily Foley, AICP
Emily has worked as a planner for over three years with a wide range of interests and experience in current planning, preparing environmental documents, community engagement, and long-range planning. She has a strong work ethic and communicates effectively. Her experience includes assisting the City of Palo Alto as a project planner doing design review of single family homes and other current-planning projects. She also has experience with larger development review projects for the City of Morgan Hill; and staffing the Planning Counter and drafting CEQA documents for other south bay cities. Emily has presented projects to Director’s Hearings, Architectural Review Board and Planning Commission meetings. She also has experience in community engagement by assisting with community meetings, study sessions, and email campaigns.
Having participated in the APA’s AICP Candidate Pilot Program, Emily achieved her AICP certification in impressive time. Prior to M-Group, Emily was a planning intern at HMH Engineers in San Jose. Emily received her Bachelor’s in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. As a student she was a part of the winning team in the Bank of America Low Income Housing Challenge, and was a recipient of the 2016 AICP Outstanding Student Award.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys dancing, especially Lindy Hop swing dancing. She also loves photography, trying new foods, and watching tv shows.
