Assistant pLANNER

Mary Ann has a background in planning, environmental health, land use, sustainability, and program development. She takes a holistic approach to planning, considering the various factors that make up and impact a community.

Prior to joining M-Group, Mary Ann worked as a Planning Intern at the City of Campbell, where she created a Conditional Use Permit Inventory. She also worked as the Sustainability Programs Assistant at Santa Clara University, where she developed, marketed, and managed campus sustainability programs. This involved graphic design, behavioral analysis, and energy, water, waste, and transportation initiatives. Her willingness to jump into a project and her down to earth personality make Mary Ann a helpful, communicative, and effective member of a team.

Mary Ann holds a B.A. in Urban Studies with minors in Sustainability and Anthropology, and a M.P.H. in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley. As a student, Mary Ann conducted research on water-runoff, metropolitan general plans, and active/public transportation in elementary school and university settings.

Mary Ann’s diverse professional and academic backgrounds highlight her interest in the interdisciplinary aspects of planning. She looks forward to utilizing this interdisciplinary background in her projects and in approaching various stakeholder and client perspectives. As an Assistant Planner, Mary Ann is currently working on policy planning.

Outside of work, Mary Ann enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga, cooking and eating food, and binge-watching shows.
