As an assistant planner, Justin engages in a variety of long-range policy planning efforts and takes on current planning assignments. His ability to quickly adapt to diverse project requirements allows him to contribute to a wide range of tasks, including housing element updates, climate action plan preparation, GIS data management, ordinance drafting, and residential design review.
Justin plays an integral part in developing policy documents for projects in cities around the Bay Area. From his data analysis work in housing needs assessments, to his review of housing policies and constraints, Justin's versatility has been an asset throughout the housing element update process. He helped cities in the counties of Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Sonoma prepare housing elements that are compliant with State requirements and representative of each community’s vision for housing development. Justin’s ability to work in a number of different capacities has been a valuable attribute in many other policy planning projects as well. He has worked on land use mapping, General Plan progress report preparation, and design guidelines review, and has addressed each city’s needs and requests.
Justin’s experience extends to current planning. His work includes application processing, residential design review, and zoning verification. He hopes to continue assisting cities around the Bay Area in their daily and long-range planning efforts.
Justin received Master’s in City and Regional Planning and a Master’s in Science in Transportation Engineering degrees from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He acquired his B.A. in Urban Studies from UC Berkeley.
He enjoys spending time drawing, building models, and following Cal football and basketball. Whenever there’s an opportunity, he also likes to explore new places on foot.
