Cailin brings a holistic approach to planning with her ability to understand and incorporate diverse perspectives in community transformation. She believes in strong communication, and enjoys working in a team. She is an enthusiastic learner and always strives to find opportunities to improve her work.

As an Assistant Planner for the City of Petaluma’s Planning Department, Cailin works the front counter.  She enjoys interacting with the community while performing tasks such as approving business licenses and permits for the City.

Before M-Group, Cailin served as Y-PLAN Coordinator for the UC Berkeley Center for Cities + Schools, and assisted in urban planning project development for the Y-PLAN educational methodology. In her role she gained experience in community planning, and brought different stakeholders to the table while engaging young people in the planning process. She connected civic leaders, educators and students together in authentic community engagement, and helped facilitate the completion of 18 Y-PLAN projects in over 9 cities nation-wide.

Cailin earned her B.A. in Urban Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a deep and broad education in both the theory and practice of planning. Her knowledge of planning policy complements her ability to think visually and her eye for design. She also studied French, and spent a semester at the Université de Haute Bretagne in Rennes, France.

In her free time, Cailin loves to watch films, read, sing, play soccer and listen to live music. She also enjoys photography, and learning languages. She is an avid traveler and loves to explore new places near and far. Cailin is the VP of Membership for her Toastmasters club, and has been giving speeches with the organization for over a year.
