Sarah is an experienced current planner with a strong background in land use, mobility, and sustainability. Sarah is an enthusiastic learner and enjoys challenging herself to learn and grow as a planner. She is passionate about planning and aspires to make positive impacts in communities and cities throughout the Bay Area. She is especially interested in public spaces and urban form.
Sarah is currently working on policy planning and developmental review. Prior to joining M-Group, Sarah worked for the City of Cupertino as a Planning Intern. She was a valuable part of the department and helped with processing developmental permits, contributed to staff discussions, and provided excellent zoning counter service. Sarah is very helpful and likes to take on new challenges and her patience and friendliness allow her to work well collaboratively on a team.
Sarah graduated with a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from San Jose State University. During her graduate education, she focused on transportation planning and environmental planning and earned a certificate in Transportation and Land Use Planning. Her master’s thesis focused on bicycle and transit connectivity in San Jose. She assessed Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail stations for bicycle parking and infrastructure and subsequently made recommendations as to how the City of San Jose and VTA could improve the bicycle and transit connections.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys being a mother to two very active children. Sarah and her husband enjoy taking their children to parks, hiking, swimming, and listening to music. She also enjoys walking, reading, and watching the San Francisco Giants.
