Steven Huss is a seasoned arts administrator for local government with expertise in public art planning, project management, grantmaking, and creative sector development. He is concurrently M-Group’s Public Art Specialist and the Public Art Manager for the City of Walnut Creek. He has served as Public Art Director for the Seattle Arts Commission, Director of the City of Oakland’s arts division, and Executive Director of the Alameda County Arts Commission.

Steve co-founded the Northern California Public Art Administrators peer network (NorCal PAAN) of which he has served as chairperson since 1999.  As a testament to his innovative and forward thinking, he is credited with the development and management of the first-ever dedicated outdoor sculpture park in Oakland and was recognized as the Arts Advocate of the Year by the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

In his leisure time, Steve enjoys swimming, hiking, camping with his teenaged son, and watching lots of movies.
