Brian Pedrotti, AICP

PRINCIPAL Planner

Brian is an urban planning professional who believes that great communities are built on collaboration, innovation, and equitable, inclusive engagement and policy. Over nearly 30 years in city and regional planning, Brian leads projects with a focus on clear communication and a solution-oriented mindset. 

Brian began his planning career in the Bay Area and has worked for a variety of California jurisdictions, including San Jose and San Luis Obispo County. He also spent time in Lawrence, Kansas, gaining out-of-state planning experience. He has a background in land use and subdivision permitting, CEQA review, housing program implementation, municipal ordinance creation, long-range planning, and airport land use planning. As a former Director of Community Development for the City of Arroyo Grande, he oversaw several major projects, including a comprehensive general plan update and an award-winning Active Transportation Plan. 

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Management from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Kansas. He has served in various capacities, including as a San Luis Obispo Housing Trust Fund Commissioner, a member of the San Luis Obispo County Subdivision Review Board, and the Planning Director’s Hearing Officer. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as hiking, camping, fishing, gardening, and reading.
