LARISSA ALCHIN
Associate Planner
Larissa is a versatile planner with interests in affordable housing, Accessory Dwelling Units, walkable city’s, sustainability, and creating healthy communities.
Before joining M-Group, Larissa was an assistant planner with the City of Sausalito providing excellent customer service on current planning projects and was the Staff Liaison on the City of Sausalito Sustainability Commission. She began her planning career with an internship at Sonoma State University’s Center for Sustainable Communities where she researched Wildfire Land Use Planning strategies and best practices for high fire risk areas. She continued to expand her planning acumen through an internship with the City of Hercules. There she helped develop the city’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and update the Safety Element. She worked collaboratively with city staff and public stockholders to research and develop local hazard mitigation strategies.
Larissa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Planning from Sonoma State University. She also has Adobe Certification in InDesign and Web Graphic Design Certificate from Santa Rosa Junior College. On the weekends you are most likely to find Larissa either in her garden, baking, camping, or exploring Sonoma County with her family.
