LARISSA ALCHIN

SENIOR Planner

Larissa is a versatile professional dedicated to affordable housing, walkable cities, and creating healthy, sustainable communities. Larissa has been with M-Group since 2021and specializes in interpreting and applying evolving state housing legislation, with a particular focus on supporting infill development and policy planning.   

Before joining M-Group, Larissa was an assistant planner with the City of Sausalito providing excellent customer service on current planning projects and was the Staff Liaison on the City of Sausalito Sustainability Commission. She began her planning career with an internship at Sonoma State University’s Center for Sustainable Communities, where she researched Wildfire Land Use Planning strategies and best practices for high fire risk areas. She continued to expand her planning acumen through an internship with the City of Hercules. There, she helped develop the city’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and update the Safety Element. She worked collaboratively with city staff and public stakeholders to research and develop local hazard mitigation strategies.  

Larissa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Planning from Sonoma State University. She also holds an Adobe InDesign certification and a Web Graphic Design Certificate from Santa Rosa Junior College. On weekends, Larissa is most likely to be found in her garden, baking, camping, or exploring Sonoma County with her family.
