AssISTANT Planner
Raini is an Assistant Planner with a passion for land use, urban design, and the creation of accessible, vibrant open spaces. With a background rooted in lived experience and a strong sense of place, he is dedicated to shaping communities through thoughtful planning and design that reflects the needs and voices of all residents.
He previously supported the City of Anaheim’s Planning Division, where he reviewed development applications, assisted the public with zoning and permitting inquiries, and contributed to major projects, including the Salt Hills Development and Housing Element implementation. His experience spans three jurisdictions: Santa Rosa, Seal Beach, and Anaheim, providing him with a strong foundation in current planning, ADU programs, and downtown revitalization efforts. He also worked at the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, where he processed CEQA documents and gained valuable experience in environmental compliance at the state level.
Raini holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and completed his Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning at UC Irvine. He also serves as Program Coordinator for Asian American Youth Leaders, where he supported a proposal for an Asian American History Museum at the Great Park in Irvine, working closely with UCI faculty and community partners. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring new neighborhoods, supporting local events, and spending time in parks and public spaces across California.
