SEAN MANALO

ASSOCIATE PLANNER

Sean Manalo is inspired to do work that empowers vulnerable constituents and transforms our community’s footprint. Sean has spent much of his early career working in housing/health policy and local community relations on behalf of a State Legislator and leading political campaigns at the state and municipal levels. During that time, he sharpened his presentation skills, fine-tuned his abilities to provide high-quality service to constituents and engage community stakeholders, and learned from strong experiences in project and program management, and creating impactful graphic design.

Prior to joining M-Group, Sean served as an Assistant Planner with the City of Modesto where he focused on current planning work including developmental plan and design review, zoning clearances, GIS mapping, and preparing complex reports for land use entitlement applications. With a recent Master's degree in Urban Planning from the Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California, Sean is knowledgeable about current principles of urban planning that place livability, social equity, sustainability, and responsible growth at its heart.

Sean also studied at the University of Denver where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and received Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude honors. Sean is described as a ‘life learner’ – curious about the world around him and eager to learn and explore. When not at work, Sean enjoys finding the next great sushi restaurant, kiteboarding, watching documentaries, and is a worthy competitor at Pub Trivia.
