SYDNEY STEPHENSON SHAH

ASSOCIATE Planner

Sydney Stephenson Shah is a community planner with a distinctive blend of public- and private-sector planning experience, spanning city planning to shared micromobility. With her diverse planning background, she can adapt to different planning environments and quickly build relationships with city staff and community members. She is committed to improving the accessibility and social aspects of urban life through innovative, sustainable, and equitable planning.

Prior to joining M-Group, Sydney worked as a project manager in the transportation planning and shared micromobility industries, where she enjoyed collaborating with and leading interdisciplinary teams of planners, engineers, and subconsultants. Sydney began her career as a Planner at the City of Berkeley, where she worked on policy projects such as affordable housing and community benefits, preparing staff reports and zoning ordinance language adopted by City Council. She also worked on current planning and presented development project recommendations to the Zoning Adjustments Board.

Sydney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Claremont McKenna College. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer, and cooking.
