Associate Planner

Wayne Farrens is an Urban Planner with a strong foundation in zoning data management, urban development, and design review. Recently serving as the Head of Zoning Data at Zoneomics, Wayne leverages his expertise to drive innovative solutions in urban planning and geographic information systems (GIS).

Wayne's career spans several notable positions, including roles at the City of San José and the City of Seattle. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and Planning from San Francisco State University (SFSU) and a Certificate of Design Communication Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), which laid the foundation for his deep understanding of urban planning and design principles and practices.

Throughout his career, Wayne has demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing urban environments through strategic planning and data-driven decision-making. His work is characterized by a meticulous approach to zoning regulations and a passion for creating sustainable, livable communities.

In his free time, Wayne is an active community member, participating in advocacy groups focused on enhancing livability for residents. He also dabbles in digital illustration, enjoys singing and making music, and loves walking through the city with his dog.
